1.166 kg gold bars seized from passenger at Coimbatore airport

COIMBATORE: The officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Coimbatore captured a 36-year-old Cholamukath Kareem Sajid, of Malappuram in Kerala state for pirating 1.166 kilograms of gold worth around 35 lakhs at the Coimbatore universal airplane terminal on early Saturday morning. The authorities of DRI got a tip off and captured the traveler at the Coimbatore worldwide air terminal. The traveler hid the gold bars in his rectum. He arrived Coimbatore airplane terminal from Sharja via Air Arabia and Kareem Sajid was taken to a private healing facility where bowel purge was given to him to get back the gold bars.
